Hostfold collects no data. It has no accounts, no analytics and no servers of its own. The app connects only to the servers you add, directly from your device.
1. Overview
Hostfold ("the App", "we", "our") is a file browser that connects to servers you control using the SFTP protocol. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information.
The core design principle of Hostfold is that your data stays between your device and your own servers. We do not operate any service that receives your files, credentials or usage information.

Note: Crash reporting (if enabled) is handled entirely by Apple through the standard iOS crash reporting system. We do not include any crash reporting or analytics SDK.
3. Connections the App Makes
- Your servers: Hostfold connects only to the servers you add, to list, preview, edit, upload and download the files you ask for. These connections are encrypted by SSH and go directly from your device to your server.
- Apple: purchasing or restoring Hostfold Pro goes through the App Store. We receive no payment details or personal information from Apple.
Hostfold makes no other network connections.
4. Credentials
Passwords, private keys and key passphrases you choose to save are stored in the iOS Keychain, protected by your device, and are never transmitted to us. Server host keys you approve are stored on your device so the App can warn you if a server's identity changes.
5. Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13, nor from anyone of any age, as described in this policy.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Deleting the App removes its data from your device; credentials saved in the Keychain can also be removed from within the App.
7. Your Rights
Since the App does not collect personal data, there is no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete on your behalf. You retain full control of all data on your own device and servers at all times.
8. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Our core commitment — that we do not collect your data — will not change.
